OK, the plan is to keep this up-to-date with the latest news and gossip from around the club.
As you can see I have revamped the Website to try and make it easier to use and more relevant.
As you can see I have reverted to drop-down menus which give more page available for information.
If you come into the site via a search engine you will arrive at the "Welcome " page. This gives a brief description of the club and its whereabouts, playing times and contacts. Basically for visitors.
I would suggest navigating to the "Home" page, leftmost drop down menu and bookmarking that page. The "Home" page will have a summary of what is happening and what will be happening around the club.
"Our Club" has stories and pictures of the club and its history. Along with more mundane matters like the club constitution and the Presidents reports and Committee reports. I may well move the latter items to the "Members" page which is password protected and may be a more appropriate place to keep semi-private information. The club Library catalogue is also on this page.
The "Bridge" page has all the info pertaining to playing Bridge. The full results for each event, our weekly palying schedule, the yearly calendar, the Trophies we play for and the Congress details, upcoming events and results and pictures.
"News", that is where you are now. News and the Newsletter.
I also intend to separate out Yvonne's Corner from the newsletter and keep them on a page by themselves.
Similarly, the lessons that Rowan gave us for the last few years will gradually make thie way onto these pages.
The "Members" page is only for members of the club and will require a user name and password to access. Here will be info that people may not want in the public domain. The "meet & great" stories from the Newsletter, some contact information, the clubs' financial reports, compromising photographs, true confessions, all the gossip, find it here.
"Links" - links to other web pages as before.
"Welcome" - the visitor intro to our club.
"More" - When I was developing the menu I felt sure there was another category taht I wanted to include, it has not come to me yet, maybe a page on memeory aids. One more heading also balanced out the page nicely.
Perhaps we could have an odds and sods page and we could post things like Barbara's potatoe salad recipe.
Initially there may be the odd broken link but I have come too far to turn back and I can't maintain two sites so here we go. If there is something wrong or missing I am sure I will find out. Read and enjoy, the site is for you the members so if there is some more information that you would like added just let me know.
Update. "More" has been replaced by "Directors" and this nowor will have has several sections, :- Directives, Dilemmas, Frequently Asked Questions, Various other stuff & the Director's Roster. If you are concerned about Barbara's Potatoe Salad recipe that could go in the Various section or if you are prone to gaining a few pounds maybe it should be under Dilemma. Not that it matters as I don't have it. ( Subtle hint).
